For example, a 1986 Volkwagen Jetta with a 2.0L engine, will have a operating range between 170 to 190 PSI. (Pressure Per Square Inch) If the compression were to fall bellow 170-PSI, the engine would probably run badly, and probably wouldn't start with anything less then 150-PSI.

Apr 10, 2011 · The service manual says the compression should be 74 PSI, it doesn't give any range. If it's close to that, I wouldn't worry about it, but if it's considerably lower, the engine needs work. Most 4-wheeler problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars and the seat!!

Just did a compression test on another type-s and it come out with 210psi. My other buddy's type s did only 190psi and it does feel a lot weaker and doesn't pull as hard as the other type s that did 210psi.
compression. counting for slightly reduced strength properties. (crushing) and. i. Compression wood. This defect is very detrimental to strength and is difficult to recognize readily. In doubtful cases reject the material, or sub-ject samples to toughness machine test to establish the quality of the wood. No, you can't tell what compression (static) you have in your engine, from that 190 psi reading. If you think about it, you'll realize that the cam's overlap has nothing to do with the compression test reading. You are at the top of the exhaust stroke and the beginning of the intake stroke when overlap occurs, and both valves are open.

Looks like it helped. Jul 06, 2008 · Compression??????? - posted in DS discussion: what is the stock compression supposed to be in a 08 ds 450. i checked my compression in my 450 and it reached 90 psi on about the 4th or 5th stroke. is this low or at least close to normal????
~ 200 psi is normal. 160 is too low. i actually took that pic before the compression test was done. all of my cylinders are right around 200. if you're reading 140-150 something is wrong. 07 gpw s2000 - 07 gsxr1000 - 08 4runner
Oct 26, 2012 · Reading is what the second gauge reads, I do not bother with the math. I then did compression testing, counting 3 stokes 7 cylinders were 180 +/- a couple of PSI. #5 was 165 after 3 different tests, did another test counting 4 strokes and it went to 180. No idea what 8 strokes would have done, would be meaningless. Sep 07, 2017 · Another key to running CI more often is a small, belt-driven, Roots-type supercharger that can push a maximum of about 7.0 psi of boost. It isn’t there to increase power; instead, the blower ... I said I was looking for a 200 psi KLZE and he said he'd test a couple. On their website they claim to provide a certificate of the compression test readings, which may not be a sure thing, but it's a step in the right direction and could give you some leverage in a dispute. I will ask for a picture though too from underneath the front valve cover.
